The client is one of the leading local supermarket chain operating 35 branches all over the Philippines. Its 23 to 15 hours, 7 days a week work schedule is supported by more than 3000 employees.

The Business Challenge

The Clients long operating hours and multiple work schedules required a solid back –office support most importantly in area of HR administrative services. The non-core yet highly critical tasks of timekeeping and payroll processing are important for the Client to cultivate better relationship with its large workforce. Achieving accuracy and timeliness in there areas while keeping HR costs a minimum are the reasons why the Client opted for outsourcing.

The Solution and Transition Process

Prople pitched for the Client’s Payroll requirements early 2007 but lost to another provider. While the Client transitioned into the outsourcing engagement. Prople focused its efforts in enhancing its web-based Integrated Payroll platform and started developing the Timekeeping Module.

By late 2007, the Client was already burdened with the poor level of service from its existing provider and decided to approach Prople. This opened the door for the Client and Prople to collaborate in ensuring better service delivery in line with the agreed level of accuracy and timeliness. The solution includes payroll processing, statutory reporting, tax annualization and computation of final pay.

While testing was being done, Prople also provided flexibility in applying several customizations required by the Client for the Payroll module. After months of engagement going live, Prople immediately worked on the Client’s Timekeeping requirement to integrate seamlessly into payroll processing.
